BREW CON LONDON CLUB NIGHT There is no Brew Con without a Club Night. Everyone knows that! It's the first thing they teach you at Brew Club. You gonna have to be able to bring your A game and party hard with the big boys & girls on this Saturday night special once in a lifetime (until next year) event. Many will question the wiseness of hosting Club Night the night before Brew Con London - at those people I scoff! We brew and we beer all day, every day! THE LAY OF THE LAND: VENUE: Club night will be hosted by our very good friends at Brew Club in Clapton. They have a beautiful space we can party in all night long. Just be careful not to crack onto Jo too hard lads, we all know he is irrestible but he is spoken for. The cute little devil. THE ENTERTAINMENT: Omg are you in for a treat?! Yes, yes you are. DJ EMMA INCH of Fermentation Radio & Home Brew Brighton fame is going to be bringing her excellent brand of Rockabilly & Vintage RnB to your earholes all night long! You will dance. Even if you weren't planning on dancing, you will. Trust me. Emma is cooler than any of us ever will be and is, of course, an expert brewer too. TICKETS: Tickets for the event are FREE OF CHARGE. There will be no money exchanging hands for the pleasure of your fellow brewers company. Some might say they should be paying you however. Due to capacity tickets will be limited to 100 people only. We will be releasing these in tiers with attending clubs having first dibs, then Brew Con London 'Kickstarters' having a chance to sign up and finally everyone else who wants to come along. This 100% a non profit night, its actually going to cost a bit to put on but we see it as an integral part of Brew Con London & Home Brew Week. PARTICIPATING CLUBS: We have space at Brew Club for 6-8 'Club bars' alongside the licensed six tap bar that Brew Club will be operating on the night. Any UK homebrew club can apply for one of these bars. The basic bar setup that we will provide will consist of a 1 metre long wooden bar with one Lindr dispense machine per bar provided with two taps. We will adapt these Lindrs to connect to cornelius kegs. Each club may bring extra dispense units or choose to not utilise the Lindr at all and just bring bottled beer to the event. Clubs in attendence so far - Beer Boars East London Chapter (theme - Welcome to the Jungle) London Amateur Brewers Brewcialism Brighton Home Brew Club (hopefully!) For more info or to grab a bar space for your club - email email@example.com WILL THE BREW CLUB TAP ROOM BE OPEN? Yes Jo will be manning the tap room all night. Brew Club rotate commercial breweries and as soon as we know who will be on for Club Night we shall let you know. Pints are an extremely reasonable £4 and we will encourage everyone to support Brew Club by buying a pint or two but its up to you, hey. A shortage of beer there shall not be. WHO SUPPLIES THE HOME BREW? The participating clubs do. We are running a (very informal) competition on the night to decide which club has brought the best beer to the event. No money will exchange hands and we do expect everyone to contribute to the judging on the night to allow the event to fall within the legal licensing boundaries. This event is to promote, share, learn about home brew! WHAT WILL THE COMPETITION CATEGORIES BE? There will be prizes (to be decided) for: - Best Beer at Club Night - Best club effort at Club Night - Best dressed bar at Club Night - Best individual costume at Club Night We hope to have a sponsor or two come forward to provide some nice prizes for the event, but at the very least I will give the winner a foot rub or something. And maybe a CAMRA Warwickshire Real Ale Festival T-Shirt from 2003. And a branded Heineken glass. DRESS CODE: Well now that all depends on you doesnt it? Each participating club can choose their own theme for their bar and dress ithe bar and themselves up accordingly. Its entirely up to them & you what you attire you believe suits this monumentous occasion best. So yeah fancy dress all the way yeah guys?! Home Brew Clubs will have until September 10th to request a bar space and reserve tickets. Remaining tickets will then be made available to Brew Con London 'Kickstarters' from Monday 11th - Sunday 17th. From Monday 18th any remaining tickets will be made available to everyone who wishes to come along (they still have to wear fancy dress though, mkay).
