We will educate and discuss health disparities in cancer, detailing how equity can be integrated into care delivery. Participants will enhance their knowledge of the current disparities and improve their ability to integrate equitable strategies of healthcare delivery into their professional practice. In addition, participatns will increase their knowledge base about the importance of clinical trials and present examples of how to increase participation of minority populations in research studies. It will also be a forum for discussion on recommended screening and prevention practice in various types of cancers and how they specifically relate to the Latino community. The panel format of the last session will discuss and identify barriers that are commonly present within Latino patients from the experience of various reputable practicing physicians.
