OVERVIEW RoBi-x Innovation Program - A path to international markets for Australian robotics innovation Through their RoBi-X Innovation & Commercialisation program, Blue Ocean Robotics has worked with universities, research organisations, government and industry partners to commercialise robotic innovations and provide a path to international markets. To date, 12 companies have been spun out in Europe with products such as the UV Disinfection Robot and WallMo. This session will discuss the important role such collaborations can play in the Australian innovation landscape, economic and jobs benefits experienced in Europe and opportunities for Australia's industry pillars. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Claus Risager, Co-CEO, Blue Ocean Robotics Claus Risager has more than 25 years of experience in robotics with expertise in development, innovation and entrepreneurship. He is a Co-Founder, Co-Owner, Partner and Co-CEO of Blue Ocean Robotics, a privately held for-profit company based in Denmark specialised in creating and commercialising robots. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science (ICT), M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and PhD in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence (AI). During his career, he created one of Europe’s largest innovation-institutes in robotics with more than 85 experts as the founder and head of the Centre of Robot Technology at the Danish Technological Institute and was Founder and President of DTI Robotics, Inc. in Atlanta, USA (2010-2012). Claus is an experienced entrepreneur and leader of robotic companies in Europe, USA and Asia with more than 10 start-ups (joint ventures), and is a member of more than 20 boards and panels in Europe and outside.
