We're hacking Minecraft for medical education! There are three main problems that people newly-diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes often face: They're young - 8-15 years. Managing it requires a whole new mindset around eating. They don't know anyone else with the condition. MCT1 will introduce Minecraft characters with Type 1 Diabetes. Players will learn new habits of testing blood glucose levels, calculating carbohydrates, and taking insulin doses - and they'll do it in a safe, fun environment. They'll also gain access to an instant community through the game. We'll be working in teams, each focused on a different project. You'll receive an email before the event, giving you a choice of teams and some preliminary information that you can use to start planning your contribution. Learn more about the event All proceeds go to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
