The MIGAS HeadStart Program is specifically designed to prepare Year 12 students to undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship after graduation. As part of the program, students will enrol in a Certificate II in Engineering Pathways (MEM20413) delivered by TAFE Queensland SkillsTech (Acacia Ridge campus) and complete a series of MIGAS hosted workshops to develop employability skills for workplace readiness. Students who successfully complete the Program will be awarded 4 Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) Credits. Program graduates can fast-track their apprenticeship by gaining 6 units of credit toward an engineering apprenticeship qualification. The school based program is unique in Queensland and students will develop a wide range of technical skills across automotive and engineering disciplines. There is ample parking available the the Acacia Ridge SkillsTech TAFE Campus. Enter the campus off Bradman Street, then turn right at the small round about. You will see car parking on your right which is directly opposite E Block. When should I arrive?We'll be hosting a BBQ from 5pm in the TAFE SkillsTech Acacia Ridge Campus courtyard just outide room E1.28, and the information session will commence at 5.30pm.
