A three day action packed MK21 UNconference for Kids, 10 - 21 years, who care about the planet. Come have a say, join in the fun and create your own action plan as part of the One Thousand Actions for the Planet campaign. Dates: 1st, 2nd and 3rd October 2017 Come to one day or come to all three! 1st October Day One: Festival of Fun Venue: Point Walter Recreation Centre, Bicton Meet the team, introduction from our special guests, meet and greet, youth reports and creative thinking games, river explore, co design and have a say about the future. The Fun Festival has been co designed by Kaiden who is very concerned about Climate Change and the impact it will have on biodiversity and the people who share our planet. 2nd October Day Two: Our Future – Our Ideas - FREE Venue: Cockburn Wetland Education Centre, Bibra Lake Have a say about the future of the Roe 8 site. Join 100 young people to have a say about the site. Meet the scientists, photographers and artists who can help you design the future. Present your ideas to Members of Parliament and other stakeholders. 3rd October Day Three: A World Without Waste - FREE Venue: Manning Community Education Centre, Manning Co design workshops, developing a youth led waste strategy. Meet waste stakeholders and entrepreneurs and design the future. Bring your innovative ideas, meet a mentor and create your plan for a waste free world For a detailed program and venue details email email@example.com Participants will present their findings to local and State Government representatives at the end of the UNconference. The UNconference will cost: $A100 per participant 10 – 21 years ( $50 per day plus one day free. Please see schedule) ( Teachers, parents and mentors are not required at the event – MK has partnerships with UWA PROSH and UWA Volunteers and all support mentors will be trained and have Working With Children Check) The fee will cover food and accommodation, transport during the three day UNconference and all workshops and activities. The UNconference will be fully supervised by Millennium Kids staff and trained volunteers. All staff have Working With Children Checks.
