Supported by Enterprise Mauritius, the peak trade development agency of the republic of Mauritius, a delegation of Mauritian jewellery manufacturers will showcase their goods in Sydney, with a view to develop trade relationships with Australia and promote Mauritius as a reliable sourcing destination. The Mauritian jewellery industry is a large and growing part of the local economy. It employs around 3,000 people, and is the third largest exporter within the country's manufacturing sector, with exports amounting to Rs 5.52 billion in 2015. There are some 50 Mauritian jewellery companies exporting to around 35 countries, with major markets including France, Germany, Belgium, the USA and South Africa. Major international clients include Leo Schachter, David Yurman, Swarovski, Leachgarner, Rio Grande, Shourouk, O.C. Tanner, Tiffany, MS Chains, Selected Findings, LVMH, Dinh Van and Schofer.
