Join us for Unity Developer Day: New York City this September 9th! Unity Developer Day is a mini-conference series dedicated to supporting local developers through the exchange of stories and skills that promote the creation of successful Unity games and interactive media. Our New York City edition brings together local game creators and Unity staff to share their expertise through a full-day conference track and a #MadeWithUnity showcase. Unity Evangelists will give talks focused on how local NYC devs can get the most out of their work with Unity and its services. Local speakers will share experiences and insights gained throughout the creation of their Unity games - be it through programming, design, art, audio, business, and more. We're thrilled to welcome Kevin Harper of ustwo and Angry Array as the Keynote Speaker for Unity Developer Day: New York City 2017! Kevin (@AngryArray) will be sharing the story of Successful Failures and wisdom from his experience as a VR / Unity Developer on the emerging technology team at ustwo + his work on Angry Array's Paulo's Wing. Kevin Harper started his career as a VFX artist working on music videos and TV commercials while spending his free time on game development. He loves exploring new technology to enhance the experience of playing. She made the switch to software and never looked back, as VR development was the perfect way to combine her interests in art, engineering, and computing. Prior to Unity, Sarah worked for VR software startups WorldViz and Pixvana. Sarah is excited to educate our community on VR + AR development in Unity. She is based in Seattle, Washington, where she proudly drinks hipster coffee daily and enjoys the beauty of the pacific northwest. Mark Schoennagel (@unity3dmarks) is a Unity Evangelist with a strong technical background in 3D Animation for both film and video games. For nearly 20 years he was the lead evangelist for Softimage 3D, enjoying a front-row seat during the renaissance of the 3D industry. From witnessing the humble beginnings of the first ray-traced animations all the way through to today’s blockbuster AAA game titles, he’s seen it all. When not pushing the limits of 3D, Mark enjoys Formula 1, photography and VR… which of course is just more 3D. Dan Miller (@DanMillerDev) was first introduced to Unity in college and worked on indie game projects until landing his first job developing mobile games published by DeNA. After spending several years in game development, he became interested in virtual reality and began developing small VR projects. Soon after, he worked as a VR Programmer for Colopl Ni on multiple titles - including Cyberpong - which has been featured in VR arcades around the world. He is excited to continue working with new and emergent technology and looks forward to helping others create unique, compelling experiences in the virtual and augmented reality space. Brit Mennuti (@britmennuti) is a Product Manager for the Google VR team, focused on Blocks and Google Expeditions. Prior to Google, she developed products at multiple tech companies, many of which targeted creative audiences. Whether building shipping software for Etsy sellers or full-length videos for Vine creators, she has experience developing user-first software for creators and coders alike. Cappie Regalado (@callmecappie) is a VR Software Engineer at Google and part of the original engineering team for Blocks. She started at Google in the Engineering Residency program and before that worked as a Canadian whisky distiller and designs clothes in her spare time.
