THE FILMA million untold stories. Two girls,One city. An in-depth illustration of Black Chicago, Where You From is a collaboration of passion and urgency, the result of what happens when young visionaries are compelled to ensure that their story - and the story of their people - is told, in truth. Shown through the lens and experiences of residents from various neighborhoods, Where You From details the history of the Chicago that rarely makes the headlines, the one where laws make lasting, sometimes unwelcomed impressions, and where existentially living black youth fight to make it – and make it out. Where You From is the explanation of the unanswered questions demanded by many, the reclamation of narratives, the voice of the people.
