This seminar invites postgraduates and early career researchers to discuss the concept of "world literature" in both a critical and convivial setting. The session will centre on Pheng Cheah's recent intervention, What is a World? (2016). It will be followed by optional attendance at Theo D'haen's opening lecture at the University of Leeds' new Centre for World Literatures and an evening reception. Attendance is free and refreshments will be served. We are pleased to offer a limited number of travel bursaries for participants travelling from York and Sheffield. For more details regarding these, as well as readings, and to confirm attendance, please contact either Dominic O'Key (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Jade Douglas (Jl10jmd@leeds.ac.uk). This event is made possible due to funding from the the White Rose College of the Arts and Humanities.
