This Storytelling Evening features Julie-Ann Clyma, a ‘kiwi’ - born and raised in New Zealand. Her early interests were reading and ballet, but then the travel bug bit and took her around the world. 30 years later and now based in Switzerland, she is one of few women in the world to certify and work as an international mountain guide. Rock climbing, trekking, mountaineering or skiing, she helps her clients push their limits, discover their capacity and achieve their dreams. Not only working in the mountains as her ‘office’, in her spare time she has made over 25 expeditions to the Greater Ranges of Nepal, Tibet, India and Pakistan. Working in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), one of these expeditions focused on the devastating changes to Himalayan glaciers, specifically the Imja Glacier in Nepal first viewed by Julie-Ann in 2002. Sharing her experiences through a series of impactful images, she will take us on a journey that shows the challenge and beauty of the mountains, and their fragility in the face of climate change. In parallel with guiding in the mountains, closer to sea level, Julie-Ann is a leadership coach in academic, (Harvard & INSEAD), corporations (McKinsey), and NPO (World Economic Forum & Hunter Foundation) environments. She has engaged 1000’s from C-level executives and high-potentials to millennials, who have been touched by her leadership skills and inspirational stories. Learn more about Julie-Ann HERE. The menu is at the inspiration stage and will be Nepalese cuisine with 5 courses. Beverages will include red and white wine, beer, cremant, tea and coffee.
